ABOUT

Alexis Caldwell (Lex) is a Utah-based artist who works mainly with oil paints.

Lex incorporates impasto oil techniques to create paintings that dwell between realistic and abstract. She's drawn to impressionist paintings from the 1800s and uses their bold, emotional imagery as inspiration when creating her own work. She currently works out of her bedroom studio, which resides in her family's Tennessee home, and will be attending the Rhode Island School of Design in August of 2025 to pursue a BFA in Painting.
